To be fair, I applied right after all of the stores in my area had hired for the summer. My mistake.
But I had a phone interview in early May. A week later I had a call for a in person interview with the district manager in my area. The interview was the next week. I thought it went well. He didn't get back to me...at all. Then three weeks after that a manager from the location closest to my house calls me and tells me the district manager send my resume to her and highly recommended me. I met her the next week and she was kind of strange. She seemed so taken aback that I was going to school and wanting to work part time. I told her whatever hours I wasn't in class, she was free to book me. She said I needed at least 35 hours of availability...which was completely doable. She never called me back, even though she said she would. Then two weeks ago, I get a call from another Starbucks location. Interview a week later, callback a week later (today) offering me the job, which I start July 21st

Oh well...cool, good for you.
To be fair though, the process didn't really take 2 months. You were adding in the fuck up or whatever you wan to call it of the other store. I thought you meant the 1 store took 2 months. |

DoesThatSparkle wrote:For sure. My title is a bit misleading. I'm just annoyed that the first store didn't even let me know. Even if it was a no, she could have told me. I still find it strange that a recommendation from the district manager meant nothing and I wonder what she told the d.m. about it all...because the manager that hired me told me he said very good things. |

I worked at a Second Cup for 4 years, I imagine the certification to be just as painful.
I don't know why I always go for the coffee related part time jobs...I guess it's just easier. |

Damn, now I want to work for Starbucks. I almost live there and I've heard so many good things about the company from my coworkers who previously worked
there or still do.

The company is great to work for. I work as a barista myself. I think what draws me is the benefits the company gives its employee's. You really only have
to work like 25 hours in order to qualify for benefits which is nice since I too am in school and such.
